Shelly Massey was born to empower others through music. As a child, she would spend countless hours writing and singing songs that touched the lives of all who heard them. Even as a teen, her unique songwriting style was a savory eclectic mix of her traditional Gospel roots blended with a modern jazzy flare. When Shelly met Gospel Jazz legend, Ben Tankard everything changed for her. Her distinct blends of jazzy soul and gospel came alive. She recorded and toured the country with Ben as the featured artist, writer, and co-writer on 3 of his best-selling albums, and also went on to perform on Bravo’s Thicker Than Water: The Tankards series and co-write the theme song for The Jewel Tankard Show.
After years of recording and performing with Ben Tankard, Shelly released her first solo project, You’re All I Need! This album penetrated hearts, and these songs quickly became favorites of listeners worldwide. Now, after focusing on motherhood, Shelly is back and more passionate than ever. Her newest compilation “Getting Off This Train” is her most transparent yet! This song speaks to her own struggle of overcoming fear, and is sure to encourage and empower listeners to move from a place of fear to faith!
